Born in Bronx, NY, Rob Cabrera has enjoyed a successful career as a renowned creative and as an educator.

Rob started his career in public education after graduating with a BFA in Drawing and Painting from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. He taught at the elementary level in Wisconsin and Florida.

While teaching in Florida in 2003, his comic strip SILO ROBERTS was picked up for national newspaper syndication by United Feature Syndicate, which also published PEANUTS. During his time in syndication with SILO ROBERTS, Rob had several celebrities guest star in the comic, most notably NBA superstar Dwyane Wade. This led to branching out to the world of collectible trading cards with Topps, Inc. and collaborating with NBA Basketball.

Shortly after Rob ended his run of SILO ROBERTS in 2006, he entered graduate school to begin the next phase of his career in animation and television. Rob earned his MFA in Animation and Visual Effects from the Academy of Art in San Francisco, where he animated, produced, and directed a young Bailee Madison in the award-winning animated short MONICA.

After pondering his post-graduate options, Rob established his boutique studio CREATIVE SQUIRRELS, LLC in South Florida, which has been a successful venture since it opened in 2013. Under Rob's leadership, CREATIVE SQUIRRELS has worked with many brands, people and networks and has become a sought-after creative solution for different types of projects across many genres.

In 2016, Rob won his first Emmy Award for animation work commissioned by NBA Basketball/ Fox Sports/ Miami HEAT. Through it all, Rob continues to teach students in South Florida, most notably serving as the Digital Arts Director for Young At Art Museum, where he oversees high school and college art interns on track to graduation.

Currently, Rob is actively developing projects for television and film. He balances work and life in South Florida with his wife and household of furry pets.
